The Sun is considered a yellow Dwarf Star. Indicating a degree of brightness greater than 90% of other stars, this celestial body has a surface temperature ranging between 3,000 and 4,000 °C and is expected to last for some 10 billion years.

The Sun is roughly halfway through its life cycle, having burned through half of its hydrogen. Once all its hydrogen is burned, it will expand and engulf Mercury, Venus, and Earth.

At this stage, the Sun will become a red giant.
