The Sun is considered a yellow Dwarf Star. This means that it shines brighter than 90% of other stars, its surface temperature is between 3,000 and 4,000 °C, and it will live for about 10 billion years.

The Sun is roughly halfway through its life cycle, having burned through half of its hydrogen. Once all its hydrogen is burned, it will expand and engulf Mercury, Venus, and Earth.
